Finding many of them reminiscent of collections like Sergei Lukyanenko’s Night Watch or Robin McKinley’s Sunshine this collection is tied together through its primary theme of “knightly” heroism set in modern worlds beset by supernatural monsters. From mystically enhanced bodyguards and vampiric gumshoes facing off against hordes of fey-like monsters to the final confrontation between the last of the dragons and the dragonslayers, P.N. Elrod’s Dark and Stormy Knights offers a little bit of something for everyone. Not to mention the stories are pretty quick, making it a great book for commuting with.

On the whole I enjoyed this selection of short stories.
