Over its history Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been home to a number of attractions and special events celebrating Hollywood. During its early years for example a celebrity guest was daily featured in a motorcade or took part in a handprint ceremony at the Great Movie Ride’s entrance, while at other times it has imported characters from content not included in their library of films and TV shows like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Cast members on the other hand aren’t related to anything in particular, instead playing caricatures of figures from Hollywood’s history leading impromptu shows on the sidestreets often calling upon audience participation. In more recent years the park has become the place to catch exclusive Meet & Greets by characters that only make appearances at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and debuts by new characters from Disney and Pixar animated features, not to mention the occasional street show by the Studios cover band Mulch, Sweat, and Shears who can often be found under Mickey’s Sorcercer Hat at the end of Hollywood Boulevard. Between all these attractions and special events like the Star Wars Weekends held between May and June, it’s not all that surprising it is one of the top ten visited amusement parks in the world.
