For those who might be going through some Game of Thrones withdrawal, and hasn’t already seen this, thanks to Geek and Sundry for bringing us this great music video plea to our favorite writer turned HBO sensation.
Also, I should really get around to reading A Dance with Dragons. Nic’s already read it once, and was immediately considering reading it a second time. Plus she’s been awesome about not spoiling it for me.

For this New York Fashion Week, Nicole and Michael Colovos brought a Fall Winter Collection to the runway for Helmut Lange that was inspired by HBO series Game of Thrones.
Apparently the television show injected a few ‘welcome details’ into the usual Helmut Lange look – the warm shade of red you see lifted from the Lannister colours, some prints that are reminiscent of the heart trees and the earth, and ‘fur’ and sheepskin that echo the outerwear of the Northmen and the Night’s Watch. (I think they may be aiming at dragonskin above.) …

Previously we’d written a little about the various sites being used as shooting locations across the small archipelago state for the HBO Game of Thrones production, and now that we’ve actually been, we thought we’d take a closer look at the old capital of Mdina.

While greatly enhanced by CGI, the strategically-located walled city of Mdina – Citta Notabile – stands in for King’s Landing. Situated in the centre of the island, the medieval city is known by natives as the “Silent City” thanks to the small local population incapable of …

Ouarzazate stands in for Pentos in Game of Thrones - From HBO

Remixes of Thrones
One thing Gary and I don’t talk a lot about is taking ballroom dance – it’s not because we feel this is something embarrassing, but because we feel we suck. We’ve been at it for long enough not to be bad at it, but we’re still learning and would in no way claim to be ‘dancers’.
One thing Gary does talk a lot about is how he loves soundtracks, and both he and the TV shows I love – Alias, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, even Jem & the Holograms …

Next up in our Game of Thrones world tour is Scotland.  Though there wasn’t as much filming in the country as there was in Northern Ireland, it’s nearby enough to make a stop if you’re in the neighborhood – and there’s ample reasons to visit the Scottish moors and lochs.
Doune Castle

Winterfell as we see it on-screen was born at Doune Castle, the first location where Game of Thrones began shooting its pilot.  It was built in the late 14th century by the Duke of Albany, the Regent of Scotland from …

Winterfell, Home of the Starks

So far, HBO’s Game of Thrones has been a huge boon for Northern Ireland’s economy, bringing back millions into the country.  With a second season coming and at least one location in Northern Ireland confirmed, it’s like to continue to bring money in, not only from the production itself, but from fans inspired to visit out of interest in the show, or in the stunning vistas featured on-screen.  Here’s a few locations you might want to put on your Game of Thrones itinerary:
The Paint Hall in Belfast

The production centered at …

Ouarzazate stands in for Pentos in Game of Thrones - From HBO

As you may know, we love Morocco.  We also love George RR Martin’s epic ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ book series and the new HBO show based on it, ‘Game of Thrones‘.  I love it so much I have five shirts I want to buy and am re-reading the books feverishly in anticipation of ‘A Dance with Dragons‘ – the sixth book which has been six years in the making.
Since ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ fans are about as devoted and rabid as any, we thought we’d spend …
